In the classification society, surveys are conducted based on classification rules and international convention requirements, and certificates are issued.

Recently, as the structure and equipment of ships have become more advanced, the requirements of international conventions have also become more complex.

Therefore, in order to comply with these requirements, knowledge of related regulations may be necessary. We are now offering the E-Learning series "Ship Survey Course Bundle", which is fundamental for undergoing surveys based on classification rules and international conventions.

This "Classification Survey" package is an E-Learning package designed to systematically learn and acquire knowledge about the surveys conducted by classification societies. It consists of the following four contents:

Class Maintenance Surveys (Hull): Learn about the overview of class maintenance surveys from documentation review and close-up surveys to performance tests required for class maintenance following ClassNK guidelines. It also introduces specialized topics such as docking surveys for underwater structures and enhanced safety measures for bulk carriers.

Class Maintenance Surveys (Machinery & Electorical Installations): Learn about comprehensive overview of class maintenance surveys for machinery and electrical installations, covering, survey schemes. Participants will explore the specifics of periodical surveys, including docking, boiler, and propeller shaft surveys, while gaining practical insights from actual examples of past machinery damage.

Planned Machinery Surveys: Learn about the planned machinery surveys by exploring mandatory open-up inspection items and the three available survey options: CMS, PMS, and CBM. This module details the specific procedures and maintenance schemes based on both planned schedules and equipment conditions.

Overview of Materials and Welding: Learn about the fundamental relationship between shipbuilding, materials, and welding, emphasizing the selection of appropriate steel based on properties such as yield strength, design temperature, fracture toughness. Also learn about the development of welding techniques and modern materials to ensure structural integrity.

Overview of Non-Destructive Inspection: Learn about the definitions and differences between Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI), and their specific roles within the context of classification surveys. Also learn about a practical overview of core testing methods—PT, MT, UT, and RT—while reviewing the essential ClassNK rules and guidelines.

Damages and their Repairs of Hull and Machinery: Regarding ship damage, learn about recent trends and representative damage examples by broadly classifying them into hull and machinery. It picks up hull damage specific to various ship types and machinery damage caused by diverse factors, explaining their root causes in an easy-to-understand manner with photographs and diagrams.

Installations Surveys: As surveys related to various types of installation, learn about the M0 Survey, Cargo Gear Survey and Cargo Refrigerating Installations Survey.
For the M0 Survey, it presents an overview of the requirements for unattended machinery spaces and the corresponding survey procedures in accordance with SOLAS Chapter II‑1, Part E.
For the Cargo Gear Survey, it introduces the different types of cargo handling gear, the scope of the survey, and recent amendments to the relevant international conventions.
With respect to refrigerating installations, it provides an overview of the systems and the corresponding survey procedures.
